Well, it was a beautiful day today too, except it was really hot. But this morning I went outside to find my dad barefoot, and I walked around in the grass with that goofy smile on my face. I know its a really small thing but I absolutely love the feel of grass between my toes. <3 It basically embodies the whole essence of summer. I would walk around barefoot all the time but unfortunately sidewalks aren't made of soft, green grass.

2 Posts in 1 Day!
So, this is my happy thing for today (the post this morning was for yesterday).

Belated Post
Hello!
So I didn't get to post yesterday because I was out all day- shopping! :D But I still wanted to post one happy thing for me from yesterday.
Walking around the shops and window shopping was a lot of fun. It was a beautiful day too, so that just made the whole day even better. I did buy a little pocket sized notebook for this blog. Now I can write down all the good things that happen during the day so if I dont' get a chance to post (like yesterday) then I won't forget anything!
I thought it was perfect (the circles kind of reminded me of the sun- is it just me?) and the quote is exactly the point of this blog. I'll put it underneath as the daily quote.
Anyway, I bought a few more things and I spent a lot of time at Books-a-Million which I haven't been able to do in so long. I read part of Finale (the last book in the Fallen Angels series) and part of the first Sailor Moon (for old time's sake). Reading makes me feel all happy inside.
A fun day overall!! :D

Still on a Summer High
So, I've been hanging out in the house and haven't been able to go out into the world and experience too many excitingly happy moments. BUT, I did make a 'summer to do list'. I make one every summer but I never actually do anything. So hopefully this summer I will. (fingers crossed)
Here's some of the things on my list:
Here's some of the things on my list:
- Make a Laptop case
- Try to make a skirt from a skirt tutorial I found
- 20 Happy Things (for my birthday... I'll explain more about this later probably)
- Read (There are quite a few books I've been meaning to read)
- Re-read ( I really want to re-read some of my favorite books because I can feel some of the details slipping from my mind 0-0)
- Cake decorating
- Write letters and actually SEND THEM
- Learn how to wear a sari
- See the Band Perry on July 4th!!
... and a few other things I'll keep to myself. :)
Another thing I'm excited about: I'm pre-ordering the Khaled Hosseni book And the Mountains Echoed as an early birthday gift to myself since it comes out 5 days before my birthday. :D

I absolutely loved, loved, loved his other two books (Kite Runner and a Thousand Splendid Suns) so I'm really excited about this new book. His writing is just so moving. I hope this one won't disappoint.
"It was only a smile, nothing more. It didn't make everything all right. It didn't make ANYTHING all right. Only a smile. A tiny thing. A leaf in the woods, shaking in the wake of a startled bird's flight. But I'll take it. With open arms. Because when spring comes, it melts the snow one flake at a time, and maybe I just witnessed the first flake melting." ~ Amir (Khaled Hosseni's Kite Runner)

The Beginning
Ahhh... Summer Break!!
I'm so glad to be done with sophomore year. It's been a rough and painful process. But what better way to celebrate than to create a blog where I document all the good and happy moments that happen to me!! My plan is to find at least one thing everyday that has created that warm, tingly feeling in my heart that makes me smile like a goofball to myself. It's so easy to get overwhelmed and forget to be thankful and happy about the little things. If anything, this year has taught me that. So, here we go!
Today, I'm still happy about being done with sophomore year (if you can't tell). Even though it's hard to believe I'm a junior. I feel like I'm not even ready to be a sophomore and yet here I am. About to leave my teens. But still, I'm so happy that it's summer and I fully intend to enjoy it.
The first day after I was done I was still sort of like...

I was still recovering I guess. But I've gotten over it and now it's just excitement.

I don't even know what to do with myself! hahaha... but I think this blog is a good start. :D

Sometimes the music is sweet
Sometimes the notes are wrong
But I never get enough
I'll take the good with the bad
I just need your love" ~ Julie Masse
